Tecate, CA - #1021
Following in the footsteps of his accomplished racing family, this young desert racer has already made his mark in SCORE International competition despite his youth. At just 17 years old, he joined forces with seasoned veterans Hiram Duran, Evan Duran, and Eric Duran to pilot the number 1016 Jimco-Chevy in Class 10 competition at the 50th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500 in 2018.
The multi-generational Duran racing team showcased their collective experience and determination during the grueling 542-mile desert challenge from Ensenada, Baja California. Despite facing the unforgiving Baja Peninsula terrain that claimed many competitors, the team persevered through mechanical challenges and navigational obstacles to cross the finish line in 12th place overall in Class 10 with a time of 15:48:25.
Racing alongside his family members has provided invaluable experience in one of motorsport's most demanding disciplines. The Tecate-based racing operation represents the deep Mexican desert racing tradition, competing against international talent in SCORE's premier events. His early exposure to professional desert racing competition positions him well for future success in the sport's most challenging races across Baja California's legendary terrain.
A total of 13 of the 14 starters of the 2nd SCORE Baja 400 Presented by VP Racing Fuels finished the race.
